About Us

Wallace Mills, P.C.

Wallace is a veteran of the courtroom with twenty-five years’ experience litigating a wide variety of often complex cases in virtually every area of both civil and criminal law ranging from complex personal injury and employment-related cases to business trade secrets and from white collar crime to capital murder. Wallace has practiced extensively in every level of trial court in the state and federal system and has successfully handled appeals before the Alabama state appellate courts as well as the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition to Alabama state courts, Wallace is licensed to practice in Alabama, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle, Southern, and Northern Districts of Alabama, the Eleventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. With the experience to help you achieve the best possible result for your case, Wallace will help you navigate the judicial system and find the justice you seek.


Wallace is a native of Bullock County, Alabama, and was raised in Montgomery.  Wallace graduated from Saint James High School, and received his Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, from Auburn University in 1993.  He received his Juris Doctor from Jones School of Law where he was a moot court finalist and served on the moot court board and began practicing in 1997.

Community Involvement

  • Chairman, Church Finance Committee, Aldersgate UMC, Created and oversee a church budget in excess of one million dollars. Plan, coordinate, and chair meetings of the Finance Committee approving and deliberating church budgetary expenditures.
  • YMCA Recreational Soccer, Montgomery, Alabama, Coached under 8, 9, & 10 boys and girls recreational soccer, 2011-2014.
  • Christmas in April/Rebuilding Together, Montgomery, Alabama – volunteered to work on renovation projects for the underprivileged and infirm from 1998 to 2002. Served as House Captain on three projects from 2000 to 2002. As House Captain, I assessed the home estimated and ordered materials, and supervised and orchestrated the work of 20 to 30 volunteers.
  • Autauga County Teen Court, Prattville, Alabama – volunteered on a regular basis from 2000 to 2004 to serve as Judge of Autauga County Teen Court, an alternative sentencing program for juvenile offenders.
  • Church Youth Advisor, Grace Church, Mt. Meigs, Alabama – volunteered with my wife as youth group directors from 1998 to 2002. Duties included the planning, coordination and supervision of youth activities and fundraisers. The group annually adopted a child at Christmas through Angel Tree and volunteered to work at the American Diabetes Association Walk.
  • People’s Law School, Autauga County, Alabama – taught in the inaugural session of People’s Law School in Autauga County, Alabama by teaching classes to the enrolled public on legal issues.

Married for twenty-eight years with two adopted children. Emphasizing complex federal litigation, including employment, civil rights, and trade secrets. Attorney for the Alabama Board of Optometry and Medical Licensure Commission of Alabama, advising and drafting regulations and overseeing disciplinary proceedings. Draft contracts and overseeing state contract review procedures. Providing privately retained and indigent state criminal defense ranging from white-collar crime to drug and violent offenses.


City of Montgomery Attorney’s Office; Montgomery, Alabama

Staff Attorney, January, 2004, to September, 2011

Managed, directed and litigated the defense of lawsuits against the City in the areas of, employment law, civil rights, common law tort and work comp in both state and federal court. Analyzed and drafted ordinances, resolutions, state legislation and contracts on issues ranging from red light traffic cameras, franchises, and easements to zoning and annexation.


Represented City in administrative personnel processes and supervised others is such representation. Coordinated City of Montgomery’s annexation campaign from 2005 to 2007, meeting with community leaders and landowners, and drafting ordinances and legislation. Advised department heads and their staff and rendered opinions on employment law, contracts, bid laws, and municipal laws.  Coordinated the City’s claims process for receiving FEMA reimbursements after Hurricane Ivan. Supervised secretaries, paralegals, and law clerks.

Professional Skills

Administrative Practice. Represented clients and government entities in administrative proceedings ranging from state license disciplinary hearings to state and local personnel actions. Familiar with the implementation and use of the Alabama Administrative Procedures Act. Advised state agency and local governments on Sunset Review issues, Alabama Open Meetings Act requirements, and ethics issues. Written administrative regulations and am familiar with the process for submission and approval on behalf of a state agency. Familiar with state contract review requirements and procedures. 


Research/Writing Skills, have advanced first-hand experience with trial and appellate level briefs and motions in both state and federal court, and have performed legal research on almost a daily basis with books as well as internet/computer based programs. Completed Moot Court elective in law school with a heavy emphasis on appellate writing.


Trial Skills, have tried innumerable cases in both federal and state court, jury trial and bench, and am intimately familiar with the order of trial proceedings, the rules of civil procedure and the rules of evidence.
